The Bell Busk Saddlery Running Martingale is made from the highest quality leatherwork with either solid brass or silver polished fittings to co-ordinate and complement our Arena and Leisure saddle and bridle ranges.  The leather is especially selected for strength and beauty and finished to match the finish on our bridle ranges.

The running martingale has been used for generations to prevent an over exuberant horse lifting it's head too high and beyond the control of it's rider.  It works via the reins which pass through the rings of the martingale and exert a downward pressure on the horse's mouth, should it lift it's head too high.  The running martingale is considered by many to be an essential piece of equipment when jumping or hacking out - it also gives you a handy neck strap in the event of a mishap.  The neck strap is fully adjustable and there is a huge range of adjustment on the strap which goes back to the girth too.
