This breastplate is widely used by International event riders who need the comfort that their saddle is not going to move under any conditions and who also need to ensure that their horse's comfort (and therefore performance) is not going to be hampered.  Whether you are a serious competitor or a happy hacker, this breastplate offers you the security and confidence to tackle any terrain safely. 

The 5 point breastplate offers more security than a conventional breastplate as it has the addition of straps going back to the girth straps, as well as the saddle D rings, effectively giving you the security of a conventional breastplate and breast girth in one beautiful piece.  It comprises a softly padded strap across the horse's withers with straps going back to the D rings of the saddle.  These clip fasten onto the D rings to reduce bulk and faff and are both full adjustable.  The sides of the neck piece which run down the sides of the horse's neck are fully adjustable and have strong elastic inserts for freedom of movement.    These are fastened to a central padded 'T' which sits at the front of the horse's chest.  Strong elastic straps ending in leather adjusters and then webbing loops go back to the girth at each side and a fully adjustable strap goes back to the girth between the horse's legs. 

Kite breastplate also comes with a detachable clip fastening running martingale (so you can quickly put it on after the dressage), each branch of the martingale is individually adjustable which is brilliant if you have a slightly one-sided horse.  The elastic on this item is black with a fine red and white stripe.

The Kite breastplate is particularly good for larger fronted horses who find the Hawk breastplate fits too close around their wind pipe.  The Kite 5 point Breastplate gives all the security of the Hawk breastplate but with a slightly more 'open' feel to the front.  It is a particularly rugged design so perfect for the most demanding use.
