Draw reins have been used for decades as a schooling aid to encourage the horse to make a rounder shape, they can also be used for hacking out and help control of unruly horses. To fit them, either slip the loop ends through the girth between the horses legs, or you can attach them back to the girth straps for a more advanced level. They should be used alongside a 'normal' pair of reins, and they very effectively prevent the horse from carrying it's head too high, or it going too long.
