This 5 point V Check  Breastplate with Running Martingale attachment, is made to suit the everyday rider.  It is handmade from good quality leather hides, sheepskin padding and with solid brass fittings. 

This type of breastplate is widely used by International event riders who need the comfort that their saddle is not going to move under any conditions and who also need to ensure that their horse's comfort (and therefore performance) is not going to be hampered.  Whether you are a serious competitor or a happy hacker, this breastplate offers you the security and confidence to tackle any terrain safely.

The 5 point V Check breastplate offers more security than a conventional breastplate as it has the addition of straps going back to the girth straps, as well as the saddle D rings, effectively giving you the security of a conventional breastplate and breast girth in one piece.  It comprises a padded strap across the horse's withers with straps going back to the D rings of the saddle.  These buckle onto the D rings and are both full adjustable. 

The sides of the neck piece which run round the horse's neck are made of extra strong, double thickness elastic for freedom of movement during galloping and jumping, these then fold back at mid pointand are attached to the girth straps via adjustable leather straps for ultimate saddle stability.  The fold points are padded with sheepskin for comfort to the horse.  The lower part of the neck straps are leather and are padded in soft leather.  The girth strap is padded in leather where it runs along the horse's breast then finishes in more adjustment between the horse's legs.  There is a pad backing the buckle so that grease (if you use it) or the horse's sweat do not interfere with the buckle itself. 

This breastplate also comes with a detachable clip fastening running martingale (so you can quickly put it on after the dressage), each branch of the martingale is individually adjustable which is brilliant if you have a slightly one-sided horse.  And the point that the martingale joins the chest ring is also padded. 

 The 5 point V Check Breastplate is available in Brown only and one size which will adjust to fit cob size up to large horse size.
